Waseca
Waseca is a city in Waseca County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 9,410 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Waseca County.
U.S. Highway 14 and Minnesota Highway 13 are two of the main arterial routes in the city.
Waseca Learning Environment
Waseca High School constantly has between 700 and 800 students yearly. It has a strong music program with its choirs and marching band constantly earning across the state and country. The school districts mascot is the bluejay. The school colors are blue and gold (yellow).
Waseca is also home to the Waseca Junior High and Central Intermediate School (CIS).
Waseca also has Hartley Elementary, a school ranging from kindergarten through third grade. Sacred Heart School is also a private componentary school ranging from kindergarten through fourth grade.
Waseca also has a charter school called Team Academy, hosting students from kindergarten-6th grade. Up until recently, TEAM Academy was sponsored by the Public Schools. Previously, Waseca was home to the University of Minnesota Waseca two-year technical college (before it was converted to the Federal Correctional Institution, Waseca) and the Southern School of Agriculture boarding high school.

The Waseca Area Learning Center (WALC) is determined to giving students a place where they can be engaged in meaningful learning that meets rigorous academic standards, become well prepared for post-secondary experiences, and continue to take pride in the reputation for excellence at the WALC.

Each student is provided with a Continual Learning Plan (CLP) that addresses a student’s learning objectives and experiences for the year, the assessment measurements used to evaluate a student’s progress while documenting the requirements for grade level or other appropriate progression in the student’s education. CLP’s are re-evaluated each trimester
